The short version

OneUniverse built Champions Arena and Gala Games published it. The litepaper dated the launch 23 August 2023. The opening post says the game was live on 24 August 2023 for iOS, Android, and the Gala launcher. I leave both dates.

On 27 January 2026 a Gala note, reposted onto r/GalaGames and attributed by the poster to Discord, said Eternal Paradox, Champions Arena, and Treasure Tapper were entering sunset. The note promised an exact shutdown date later. That date is still not in any public Gala post I could open.

Can you still play?

New installs have nowhere official to come from. The Play listing for com.galagames.championsarena and the App Store page id6448010064 both return 404. champions-arena.com redirects to a GoDaddy parking page. The old launcher address app.gala.games/games/champions-arena only shows the launcher shell.

For people who already installed the game, NFT Video Games wrote on 11 October 2026 that it still runs and that no final date had been set. That is one source. Readers under the Reddit post describe the game as dead or inactive. That is community sentiment, not a dated server-connectivity check; it cannot independently confirm or refute the existing-player report.

Timeline

Dates below are the ones printed on the source page. Where two official posts disagree, both stay.

NFT tokens are a separate question from the servers. The help article on OpenSea says Champions, Estates, and related items can move to Ethereum and trade there. Chain presence does not keep the battle servers online. See the NFT status page and the download status page.

Questions

Is Champions Arena shut down?

Gala's wording is sunset, not a dated shutdown. The 27 January 2026 note says a final date would come later. As of 11 October 2026 that date was still unpublished.

Can a new player download it?

No official store listing is left. Google Play and the App Store pages for the Gala app both return 404, and champions-arena.com is a parked page.

Can an old install still connect?

One status page, checked 11 October 2026, says the game still runs for existing players. Reddit commenters describe the game as inactive; those comments do not establish whether servers accept connections. Both accounts stay attributed.

What happens to the NFTs?

Champion and Estate tokens are GalaChain assets that can bridge to Ethereum and list on OpenSea. Their in-game use depends on the game servers. No public migration or compensation plan is on record.
